For students in 6-12th grade, UpperRoom provides a place for them to connect with other students, other leaders, and most importantly with God to see students grow closer to Christ. The student ministry wants you to get involved in going through the discipleship process with your teenager. Understanding that the parent is the number one influencer in the faith development of a child, the student staff and volunteers will always be your sidekick. It is one of our goals to make you, the parent, a hero in your teenager's life.
First, we would like to say your child's safety is very important to us. Here, at Lakeview, a typical Wednesday night consists of check-in at 5:30 PM. Students can hangout with friends outside (weather permitting) or play games and grab some food inside. A meal usually costs around $5. We have a worship service at 7:00 PM that can be compared to a conference type experience. After that, we hear from the word in a large group setting and then we have small group time. In small groups we go over what was taught from God's Word and learn how we can apply it to our lives. The UpperRoom service is usually over by 8:00 PM or earlier.
